Sorry :P

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while; I've been really busy with school and whatnot... :P

Anyways, on Wednesday our school band went to a high school in our county for our LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation). LGPE is basically where bands go to a high school, perform 3 songs, sightread a piece NO ONE has seen before, and get judged by A TON of judges. Before we warmed up in a rather small room, we watched one of the other bands performed, and one of the conductors was one of the conductors we had 2 years ago! (before Dr. Strauss came along to conduct the band along with Mrs. Pezold) Everyone was like "Mrs. Holbrook!!! :O"

The morning announcements stated that we got all Superior ratings (the highest rating you can get at LGPE)!!! YAY!!! :D

Well guess what... they were wrong... again >:l

Despite this, we DID get a Superior rating overall!!! (we had only one Excellent, the second highest rating; WE WERE SO CLOSE!) YAY!!! :D

Yesterday I was EXTREMELY panicky and pressured at first because we had to complete BOTH a Benchmark Test (multiple choice, short response questions, and essay) AND a DBQ (Document Based Question- it's basically where we have to analyze a whole bunch of documents and write a 5 paragraph essay answering the Document Based Question and citing evidence from the documents) by the end of class on MONDAY! AND we kept having to wait until ALL our other work was done to work on our DBQ!!! What I think is REALLY ridiculous is that apparently ALL DBQ work must be completed "in class." We can't even write our text evidence on a separate piece of paper and do the essay at home!!! Even THAT is forbidden!!!

Sorry... this DBQ REALLY frustrates me... >:l

Despite this, I felt rather giddy towards the end of 6th period yesterday because of something REALLY exciting Mrs. Bonstein told me.

I'm not going to tell you what it was because she said it was a secret, and I'm NOT the type to spill the beans. :P

Today I felt, on average, rather relaxed. I was still a little on edge because of the DBQ, but thanks to Mrs. Bonstein playing peaceful music in the background, I relaxed a bit. :)

During 7th period, Mrs. Quenan announced that she was going to give us our courses for next year (high school oh my goodness) at the end of class.

Me: GASP- oh (thinks: No, I can't get my hopes up. I won't be certain what my courses will be until after my advisement at my high school on April 4th)

I did that AGAIN when Mrs. Quenan referred back to it at the end of the day LOL EPIC FAIL :P

The course list gave me a general idea of what I will be taking for my core classes and electives, which is good at least, even if it WILL be tweaked at my advisement. :)

YAY IT'S FRIDAY WOOT!!!!!

Here is the song that was played back when all of the people in my grade walked around our elementary school for the last time (if I cried a bit then, I KNOW I'm gonna cry on my last day of middle school in 2 months).

Ahh yes... elementary school...

Good times... good times... :)

O_O

AM I TRYING TO SING THE SONG OR SOMETHING?!?! :P

Anyways, here's the song. :P

I do not own the video or the song. All credit goes to Kool and the Gang and the creator of this video.

That's all for now, and TGIF! :D

Last Night's Dream O.O

Hey everyone! Last night I dreamed I participated in a weird version of the Hunger Games. We were in a small, dark room during the duration of the Games, and there were a series of water slides that served as the entrance to the room. (WARNING: The following information is REALLY emotional. If you feel you are going to become extremely depressed while reading this, I recommend you stop reading now.)

While we were on the aggressive water slides, I looked behind me to see a woman and a man (my prep team?) who looked HIDEOUS (I didn't tell them this, but they looked like they were part GOBLINS who never showered in their lives)! Despite the fact that they appeared so grotesque, they rooted for me during the Games. :l At the entrance to the room in which the Hunger Games took place, this conversation occurred between my prep team and me.

Woman: Good luck.
Me: Thank you.
Man: And stay alive. (sounds like Haymitch from The Hunger Games, no? XD)
Me: Thanks. -.-
Man: The weapons in there may seem intriguing, but don't grab them right away; a lot of people are going to want those weapons, and bolting for them immediately may cost you your life. Instead, wait until the demand for weapons is not as high; I recommend the second day.
Woman: Be sure to look for food while you are in there; food and water will be your new best friends from now until the end of the Games. Use the food and water you find wisely.
Me: Thank you for your advice. I will do my best, I promise. -hugs both- (eww that felt gross...)

Right after I hugged my "prep team," one of the Gamemakers came on the intercom.

Announcer: Welcome to the Hunger Games! May the odds be ever in your favor! You may enter the room in 5... 4 (gulp)... 3... 2... 1!!! LET THE HUNGER GAMES BEGIN!!! -trumpet is played-

At that moment, everyone rushed into the pitch-black room. I somehow ended up with a bow and sheath of arrows in my hands just 2 minutes after I walked in the room. Immediately I heard the screams of dying tributes. 1... 2... 3 tributes were now dead out of the 20 that were in there...

I did not show my feelings, but the truth was, I was SCARED! What if I end up DEAD in half an hour? Oh well, I will just have to do my best and hope I make it to the end of this treachery.

As I dashed through the room with my adrenaline level at its peak, I decided to use one of my arrows on a nearby tribute. This was a very risky decision, for I knew I was not an ace with the bow and arrow, and missing my target would be a fatal mistake. I loaded my bow and aimed at my target. Then, I watched as my arrow pierced the air and perched itself on the tribute's heart. The tribute immediately collapsed to the ground, dead. I repeated this process with another tribute I discovered near a ring of torches. Despite the fact that I shot this tribute in the chin instead of in the heart or the brain, the poor boy fell to the ground in defeat as well.

I narrowly escaped a boy with a sharp dagger and I bolted along the side of the arena, terrified at this point and feeling a pang of guilt. This was NOT the person I was! Normally I'm a really sweet person who expresses empathy with others, not this killer!

I needed to find some water soon; I was already starting to feel really thirsty...

THE WATER SLIDES!!!

The Gamemakers never closed the door after we entered the arena; I'm sure I can get some water there!!!

Wait a minute... many others may have the same idea...

Well, do you want to face the slight chance you'll have a spear in your heart right now or do you want to suffer a painful death later on for certain as a result of dehydration?

I decided to approach the water slides for a drink of water.

Even though there were other tributes at the water slides, most of them were trying to find a way to get out of the arena, not trying to get a drink of water.

Dumb idea.

Immediately after they figured out a way to exit the arena, all 4 of the tributes were zapped and killed by the Gamemakers' laser beams set up for this purpose. I, on the other hand, felt refreshed and relieved. I had to remind myself that the Games were not over yet; I still had a bunch of tributes left to face in the arena.

At this point, more than half of the tributes were already dead in the first 16 hours of the game. 9 tributes were left including me...

I couldn't believe I had made it this far.

I thought too soon; right then, a short girl of 9 or 10 with long, blonde hair ran up and choked me. As her hands seized my neck, I knew that this was it for me. I looked around the room one last time as her hands continued to constrict my throat...

Me: (thinks) Goodbye world...

As I thought this, I heard a thump from behind me as another tribute kicked the girl in the leg. I took this opportunity to release myself from the girl's grip and give her a taste of her own medicine (in other words, I choked her in return).

Girl: Eep!

As the girl died a slow and painful death, I felt EXTREMELY guilty for all the people who have died because of me. All of a sudden, Katniss's voice entered my head.

Katniss: Nobody wants to kill anybody else; we only end up killing each other in self-defense.

This was so true right now, for I had not intended on ever killing the girl who was currently in my grip. I had planned on spreading eternal peace to the rest of the world, not killing all of the people I have killed in the Games. I only killed this girl because she attempted to kill me. :(

BOOM! (that was the sound of the cannon just outside the arena)

The girl was dead. I released the girl's neck, and the girl fell lifelessly to the ground. I couldn't believe what had just happened...

I was crying.

A few hours later, I approached a group of 4 tributes sleeping. I looked up to discover a large tracker jacker nest...

For those of you who don't know what tracker jackers are, they are genetically engineered wasps who follow their victims far away from their nests. A few stings bring about searing pain and powerful hallucinations, but more stings than that bring death to most people. These creatures only exist in The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

Right after I discovered this nest, I woke up. :l

Well, that's all for now, and have a spectacular Saturday!

I Failed At Drawing :P

Hey everyone! Today I was checking out DragonWolf70's AJ blog (here is the link: http://dragonwolf70ajuniverse.blogspot.com/) and I saw this AMAZING picture she drew of a cat!!! Here it is!

Anyways, I decided to see if I could draw as good as she can by drawing a wolf on Paint.

As I kind of expected, I FAILED at drawing a good wolf (it suuuucks :l).

Here is my stinkish drawing of a wolf. :P

Wow it doesn't even look like a WOLF...

That is just SAD...

Poor wolf, I made you look hideous. DX

Oh well, I guess everyone is stronger at certain things than other people are. :P

Well, that's all for now, and TGIF!!! :D

Update: You thought I was done, huh? WELL I'M NOT XDDD

ANYWAYS...

I also decided to draw myself just to show you what my computer drawings of myself look like. Here it is. :P

I personally prefer the drawing I made on the Monday that I received my new printer (and updated today :P) to this one, but oh well. :P

NOW I'm done. Have a fantastic Friday everyone! :P

OMG YAY!!! :D :D :D

Hey everyone! Today I was getting situated in my Language Arts class, and I saw this on the board.

"Writing Test scores"

Me: Wait a minute... we're getting the results for the 8th Grade Writing Assessment today?! :O

(no response)

Anyways, a few minutes later our teacher, Mrs. Bonstein, walked around the class and showed everyone what score he or she got on the writing assessment by showing the score she wrote down on her clipboard. Apparently only 3 people in the whole class got exceeds (250-350), while everyone else got meets (200-249). Not long after she started walking around...

"Aaabigail!" (she seemed pretty excited when she walked up)

Man, Mrs. Bonstein has GOT to stop sneaking up on me... :P

Then, Mrs. Bonstein showed me the clipboard with my score on it...

AND I GOT AN EXCEEDING SCORE OF 275 ON THE WRITING ASSESSMENT!!!

YAY!!!!!!!

I WAS SO SHOCKED AND HAPPY!!! :O :O :O :D :D :D

YAAAY!!!!! :D :D :D :D

I didn't even think I was even going to get a MEETS on the Writing Assessment, much less exceeds!!! (I got a 77 on both the Folio assignments. :l) I guess Mrs. Bonstein taught me a lot of useful tips right before the Writing Assessment that helped A TON (my pre-writes are AMAZING now). Ok, maybe my pre-writes aren't "amazing," but they're SPECTACULAR compared to how badly they stunk before!!! :D

Using 2 body paragraphs instead of 3 also helped a ton with elaboration. :D

Well, that's all for now, and have a thrilling Thursday everyone! :D

P.S: This blog officially has more than 1,000 views! Omg thank you so much for supporting this blog and viewing it as often as you do!!! <3

LOL :P

Hey everyone! Yes, I know this is Animal Jam-related and I have a blog for Animal Jam stuff, but something occurred on Animal Jam that was so hilarious that I decided to post about it on here. Here is the video I made regarding this. :P

Because this is an AJ video and not a real life video, I spoke a little bit of the Jamaasian language (a language that is very similar to English that I often speak on Animal Jam. I named "Jamaasian" after Jamaa, the world in which Animal Jam takes place.). :P Here is a translation guide. :P

The Jamaasian Language
"Jammers"- Everyone that is watching the video
"Jam-tastic"- Fantastic

That's all for now, and have a wonderful Wednesday everyone! :D

OMG IT HAILED OUTSIDE!!! :O :O :O

Hey everyone! Earlier today I came home from Drama Club to learn that tonight there was going to be a really nasty storm. Almost immediately after we got inside the house, this occurred (if you can't see the hail, sorry).

It didn't hail very long, but I was extremely shocked it hailed at all! First I learn that a tornado warning was issued in our area (before it got changed to a tornado watch) then it starts HAILING!!! :O

That's all for now, and have a marvelous Monday! :D

MY NOSE JUST RANDOMLY STARTED BLEEDING!!! O__O

Hey everyone! My friend wolfy (Metropolis) and I were just singing together for our own pleasure, when all of a sudden, I felt this warm liquid drip from my nose. I gently placed my finger on the spot just below my nose to see what it was, and I realized my nose was BLEEDING!!!! I'M NOT KIDDING!!! Then it started bleeding non-stop, so I rushed to the bathroom to clean up the bleeding. It took FOREVER to stop my nose from bleeding so much! :O :O :O

My nose has NEVER started bleeding out of the blue in my LIFE!!! The one time my nose DID bleed was when we tried to play Twister 4 years ago with 5 people on the game board and with me in the middle. Because there were too many ppl playing Twister, I did a somersault and landed on my nose. This was different though, for I had landed on my nose before it started bleeding. O__O

Well, that's all for now, and have a splendid rest of your weekend!

I Feel Horrible :'(

Hey everyone... -sniff- :'(

This morning I woke up with a fever of almost 102. I was also really dizzy. When my mom told me I had to stay home today, I felt EXTREMELY torn. To make matters worse, I was supposed to do my debate today!

Oh man... I don't know what to do...

Now my debate partner will have to do the debate without me...

It doesn't help that the top conversation on Facebook right now is the debates... :(

I'm not kidding when I say that I was crying in real life just now... :'(

That's all for now, and happy Pi Day everyone... -sniff-  :'(

Debate Poem :P

Hey everyone! I'm going to end up participating in a formal debate this Thursday. At first I was REALLY nervous (as mentioned in my previous post), but now that my partner and I planned out what we're going to say, I don't feel so bad. :D Speaking of which, I feel like creating a poem about debates. XD

Debates (By: Abigail)

Debates
The anxiety alone spoils the meal you ate.
Oh, wait!
Saying "you ate" would not be great,
For saying "you" at all would make a person dead bait
On this very intense date
On which people have their debates.

I REALLY don't know what motivated me to do that; I just felt like creating that lol. :P

That's all for now, and have a terrific Tue- oh it's Monday isn't it? Have a magical, marvelous Monday everyone! :D

P.S: This is my 50th post on this blog! Yay!!! :D :D :D

Advice :)

Hey everyone! Today I feel like giving some advice. :)

If you EVER get extremely anxious about something to the point where it feels like your whole world is going to completely crash to the ground, try asking yourself "What is making me feel so nervous anyway?" This can help you narrow down why you are so anxious, and it will help resist the feeling that every aspect of your life is making you anxious. Once you have narrowed down what is making you feel so upset, ask yourself "Is this really worth getting worked up over?" Trust me, 9 times out of 10 it isn't. In the rare occurrence that it IS something you need to get worked up over (for example, if your friend's life is in danger), talk to a trusted adult. They might be able to help solve what is making you feel so anxious.

Everyone is different, but this strategy has helped me get over my nervousness several times in a row, and I hope it helps you guys too. :)

The reason I posted this in the first place is because last night I was EXTREMELY nervous about the debate I'm going to participate in with my partner on March 14 (Pi Day). Our topic is Animal Testing, and during the coin toss yesterday, we got negative (thank goodness). The truth is, I felt my partner wasn't committing enough to the debate, and I was afraid we would either a. sound really stupid, b. completely fail the debate and/or the research paper I did before the debate, or c. both. I tried the strategy mentioned in the second paragraph, and it helped A TON. I'm still a little nervous, but I'm not feeling devastated like I did before I used that strategy.

Again, I hope this strategy helps, and have a spectacular Saturday!

!!!!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, sorry. I had to get that out of my system. :P

Anyways, last night was SUPER exciting! First we went to Electives Night at my high school, and we were able to get some useful information about the electives I chose (I swear the Foundations of Engineering and Technology teacher reminds me SO MUCH of Mr. Stillwell, the former STEM teacher and FLL coach at my current school O_O). After that, we drove home to pick up Dad and go to a restaurant that specializes in ribs for a fundraiser for my current school. Here was the conversation we had on the way there. :P

Dad: Oh ya, I have a surprise for you.

Me: Really?

Dad: Ya. You'll have to wait until we get home to see it though. :)

Me: ARRG!!!!

(Arrives at restaurant)

(Completely forgets about the conversation listed above during the time spent at restaurant LOL)

It was truly a pleasant experience to support my school while seeing quite a few familiar faces. :)

(Arrives home)

Dad: Ok, here is the surprise! Mom, take out the camera!

Me: Omg... -looks at wrapped up surprise eagerly-

Me: -opens-

Me: WHAT?!?!?!?!?! No... this can't be... an iPad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O :O :O :O OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! -smiles as Mom takes picture-

Dad: It's all yours. It's not yours and your mom's; it's not yours and mine. It's all yours.

Me: I... I... THANK YOU!!!!! -hugs-

OMG OMG THIS IS AMAZING AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that's all for now guys and have a exciting weekend full of awesomeness!!!! :D :D :D

YAY!!!! :D :D :D

OMG YAY!!!! Guess what?!?! WE GOT A NEW PRINTER TODAY!!!!! OMG IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! :O :D :O :D :O :D

My old printer always jammed the paper I printed with and produced ink blots all over the papers I printed. It was not uncommon for me to print something out 3 or 4 times before it would print out right. We also printed out the research paper I turned in a while ago just to watch the new printer print, and IT PRINTED THE PAPER OUT SO FAST!!! Not only that, but the quality of the paper was so much better than the quality of ANY of the papers my old printer printed in the past 2 years!

THE NEW PRINTER EVEN HAS A TOUCHSCREEN AND A BUILT IN SCANNER!!!!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Sorry, my computer drawing skills aren't the best... Please no negative comments; I worked hard on this!

Well, that's all for now, and have a marvelous Monday (I don't even care that it's Monday I'm so happy)!!! :D :D :D

Brrr... -shiver-... DX

Hey everyone! I went to a booth sale for my Girl Scout troop today (we were selling Girl Scout cookies), and although it was fun, it was completely FRIGID outside (it was 41 degrees with occasional snow flurries, which is not exactly comfortable weather for me)!!!!! Even with TWO PAIRS of socks on, I couldn't feel my feet. Gloves didn't stop my hands from becoming numb either. DX As a matter of fact, during one of the trips I took inside the store (we sold cookies at one of the Krogers in our area) with one of the other girls, my mom told me that my cheeks were really red. I looked in a mirror nearby, and it turned out that both my cheeks had been replaced with ginormous scarlet beets!!! Not only that, but standing non-stop for 4 hours made my legs feel like they had just been stabbed by 2 daggers near the hips. The good news is that I endured this bitter weather without collapsing to the ground because it was so bone-chilling. The BAD news is that I'll have to go back tomorrow for ANOTHER 4 hours... DX

On the way to the Kroger we sold Girl Scout cookies at, an AWESOME song came on the radio!!! As I was listening to the song, I thought "WOOOO YEAH!!!!" and silently danced to it.

What I DIDN'T know was who sang that song.

When this amazing song concluded, the radio station we were listening to stated that the song was "All Around the World by Justin Bieber."

Wait... JUSTIN BIEBER?!?!?!?! :O :O :O

I didn't even have a CLUE that he was the one who sang that song!!! I thought JB was just some popular pop singer who curses and sings pop music that doesn't possess a strong message like everyone else. JB, you proved me wrong!!! Here is the song!!! (haha I'm a poet and I didn't even know it. :P)

All credit goes to Justin Bieber, Ludacris, and the creator of this video.
